    Chair of SBA, Greg Wall

    Greg WallGreg Wall is the Chair of Social Business Australia and Chair of the Australian Secretariat for the International Year of Co-operatives bringing a wealth of experience as a chief executive in the mutual space with a strong financial services background in retail and commercial banking. Since his first co-operative endeavour in his 20s establishing a deer farm co-operative in WA, Greg has believed in the the strength and resilience of the co-operative model of business. Greg took up his appointment as CEO of Capricorn on 22nd August 2011.

    Suzanne is CEO of Sommerson Communications, which provides strategic marketing, programs, communications and media services to the fourth sector including co-ops and community associations. Suzanne was the founding editor of Community Cooperative Connections (CCC eNews) the Australian online newsletter covering co-operative, community and not for profit sectors. Sommerson produces the ICA eDigest - the flagship monthly publication of the global peak body for co-operatives, the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA).

    Alan has advocated for employee and community ownership solutions since the 1980s. He has been a member of the Management Committee of the Australian Employee Ownership Association (AEOA) since its inception in 1986 (www.aeoa.org.au). The AEOA has set up an Employee Buyout Centre - the Australian Employee Buyout Centre (www.aebc.org.au) which is funded by the Federal Government to support and advise on employee buyout strategies for saving jobs in distressed businesses. Alan is a director of the Centre.

    Melina is a Director of Australia's Secretariat for the International Year of Co-operatives and a member of the voluntary board of management - the IYC 2012 Steering Committee. Melina has written on co-operatives and the social economy for a decade for international and national publications (four years as Associate Editor of the International Co-operative Alliance e-Digest). Melina has wide experience engaging social and mainstream media on how we build social capital through profitable social businesses.
